Thank you for your interest in joining the Stony Brook Volunteer Ambulance Corps for the Fall 2019 Probationary Class!
We are the primary emergency ambulance service for the Stony Brook University and surrounding areas. We operate twenty-four hours a day and seven days a week. We hold our volunteers to the highest standards and appreciate the endless time and effort they give to help others in their community.
In order to apply, all prospective members must follow the process listed below:
Email your typed application and resume to SBVACapplications@gmail.com with the subject line “YOURNAME” by September 6th at 2359 hours.
All applicants must attend an open house session in the same semester they are applying. Please note that any open houses/informationals held in past semesters or inquiries at our information tables do not apply.
On September 7th, you will receive a document to sign up for a first round interview via the Google Sheets system. Please dress appropriately in business casual attire.
Bring a hard copy of your application, weekly schedule, resume, and any letters of recommendation to your first round interview.
Should you pass the first round of interviews, you will be required to attend a second round.
You must be able to provide the proper proof of any and all certifications you may have.
If you are accepted to our probationary class, you must adhere to the guidelines and requirements listed on page 5 of this application.
