Thank you for your interest in joining the Stony Brook Volunteer Ambulance Corps for the Fall 2026 Probationary Class!

We are a NY State certified emergency ambulance agency primarily serving Stony Brook University and its surrounding areas. We operate twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

You must attend an Open House to apply for the Fall 2026 Probationary Class! Open Houses will be held at SBVAC’s headquarters, where you can learn more about our agency, meet our members, and tour our ambulances. Open Houses will start at 8:30PM throughout the first 2 weeks of the semester.

After attending an Open House, applicants must complete a written application. Certifications and prior experience are not required in order to apply. Applicants must be at least 17 years old.

Your application will be invalid if you have not attended an Open House. The application deadline is Saturday, September 5th at 9:00 AM, and late applications will not be considered
